Using the popular spice mix, Herbs de Provence, this recipe is not only fragrant and delicious, but it also has the healthful benefits of lavender flowers that are known for their calming effect and are said to even promote better sleep!
RECIPE
Total Cook Time: 15 Minutes | Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1 kg tomatoes
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
30 ml extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon Herbs de Provence
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
Fry onion and garlic in olive oil until softened and fragrant
Add in tomatoes, sugar and Herbs de Provence, occasionally stirring to break up the tomatoes. The sauce will be chunky and not broken down all the way.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
